The Covid-19 virus has proved deadly not only to humans but to the economy as well now the balance which was established between work and livelihood has been destroyed even though the whole world has been the victim of this adverse situation, a certain class of people has been affected the most. people who were already living on the edge are now having not any other option other than to starve. we can count the number affected of people affected by the virus but what about the people who have been mentally traumatized and are on the verge of emotional physical and economical devastation The most horrific and obvious impact of the lockdown imposed to flatten the curve has been a rise in domestic and intimate partner violence .some say lockdown is flattening the virus spread curve but on the other hand, it is pretty evident that it is also sharply giving a boost to the domestic violence graph. The lockdown has presented a challenging situation for lakhs of women caught in difficult situations with their abusers, with no looming respite. Financial uncertainty, lack of access to basics, and struggles of confinement have aggravated the situation. In a pandemic, unprecedented measures are taken into consideration to save human lives. Yet, most of the times these measures are disproportionately affecting specific sections of our society adversely. An estimated 400,00000 women work as domestic staff in India, most of them are having responsibilities of dependents on them. These women are growing increasingly anxious about not only their precarious work status but also their ability to find protective items such as face masks and hand sanitizer. On the other hand, the stepping rise of inflammation and discrimination based on caste and gender reported across the country has made the problems faced by them even more fierce even though certain measures like The constitution of specials team to handle these complaints on a fast track basis have been formed but still, there is a lot of work that needs to be done in the form of awareness program and fields such as providing access to essential facilities such as healthcare services and subsidized or free food. The virus can only be defeated when the whole population is united and served equally.
